Volleyball Preseason Poll Released
Point Park University Volleyball Preseason Favorite
The KIAC coaches have selected Point Park University as the preseason favorite in volleyball for the 2013 season, conference officials announced Tuesday, August 13th. Point Park collected 112 points including four first place votes. Coaches were not permitted to vote for their own team. Point Park was the 2012 regular season and conference tournament runner-up. Indiana University East was selected in the second position with 109 points and six first place votes. The Red Wolves were the 2012 regular season and tournament champions. Asbury sits in the third position with 104 points and two first place votes. Indiana University Southeast was selected fourth with 93 points. Cincinnati Christian University is fifth in the poll with 75 points. The rest of the poll includes Carlow University (71 points), Brescia University (57 points), KIAC newcomer Indiana University Kokomo (50 points), Berea College (37 points), St. Louis College of Pharmacy (36 points), Midway College (36 points) and Alice Lloyd College (12 points). The 2013 volleyball season will begin in mid-August and will conclude with the conference tournament November 8-9.
