Vasha Davis, Indiana University East -- Men's Basketball Player of the Week

6-3 Sophomore – Hammond, IN

Indiana University East sophomore Vasha Davis was named the KIAC men's basketball player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, January 27th.

Indiana University East finished the week 1-1 after falling to Brescia University 95-88 and defeating St. Louis College of Pharmacy 89-74. Davis finished the week averaging 19.5 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals per game. He connected on 52.4 percent (11-of-21) of his shots from the field. The sophomore guard recorded 28 points, 8 rebounds and 2 steals in the loss at Brescia. He followed that with 11 points, 2 rebounds and 2 steals in the win at St. Louis College of Pharmacy. Davis made his first four free throw attempts in the win to set a new IU East record with 27 consecutive made free throws. Davis currently ranks 7th in the KIAC in points per game (16.71) and is fourth in field goal percentage (53.5 percent).

Indiana University East is currently 7-17 overall and 3-8 in conference play. They will return to action on January 31st when they host Asbury University.
