Sam Weir, Point Park University -- Women's Basketball Player of the Week

Point Park University freshman Samantha Weir was named the KIAC women's basketball player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, January 6^th. This is her fourth player of the week award of the season.

Point Park University finished the week 2-0 after defeating Indiana University Southeast 79-77 and Brescia University 78-66. In two games last week, Weir averaged 19.5 points and 13.5 rebounds. She recorded a double-double in the win against IU Southeast, scoring 25 points and grabbing 17 rebounds. The freshman center also had 14 points and 10 rebounds in the win at Brescia University on Sunday. Weir is 8^th in the KIAC in points per game (16.0) and 3^rd in rebounds per game (11.23). She also ranks 4^th in NAIA Division II rebounds per game (11.23) and 4^th in blocks per game (3.308).

The Pioneers are currently 14-0 overall and 4-0 in conference play. They will return to action on January 10^th when they travel to Berea College.
