Heather Wheat, Indiana University Southeast -- Women's Basketball Player of the Week

5-6 Senior – Louisville, KY

Indiana University Southeast senior Heather Wheat was named the KIAC women's basketball player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, December 15^th. This is her third women's basketball player of the week award of the season.

Indiana University Southeast upset #5 Indiana Wesleyan 70-62 last week and fell to Union College on the road 76-73 in overtime. In two games, Wheat averaged 17 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 2.5 steals. She led the Grenadiers in the upset over Indiana Wesleyan with 20 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 3 steals. She finished the week with 14 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals against Union. The senior guard is 2^nd in the KIAC with an average of 20.41 points per game. She currently ranks 10^th in NAIA Division II points per game (20.41), 17^th in steals per game (3.16) and 9^th in assists per game (5.33).

The Grenadiers are currently 8-4 overall and 1-0 in conference play. They will return to action on December 18^th when they travel to IUPUI.
