Brescia University junior Austin Morris was named the KIAC men's basketball player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, December 1st.
Brescia University won both of their games last week, defeating Boyce College 92-64 and Morthland College 95-82. In two games, Morris averaged 22.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3 assists, 7 blocks and 1.5 steals. He made 77.3 percent (17-of-22) of his field goals attempts and was 11-for-11 from the free-throw line. Morris recorded 23 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 6 blocks and 2 steals in the win against Boyce College. The junior forward ended the week with 22 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 8 blocks against Morthland. Morris is averaging 15.56 points and 9.78 rebounds per game. He ranks 2nd in NAIA Division II blocks per game (3.778) and 10th in rebounds per game (9.778).
The Bearcats are currently 6-3 overall. They will return to action on December 5th when they participate in the Ivanhoe Classic at Taylor University.
