KIAC Women's Basketball Tournament Update
Asbury 74, Midway 60: Ellie Steiner scored 16 of her 18 points in the second half and hit five three-pointers in the final frame to lead Asbury past Midway to advance to the KIAC Women's Basketball Championship game.
Three other Asbury players finished in double figures. Annissia Wood had 17 points , Sam Burr had 15 points and six rebounds and Kelli Rinehart added 14.
Midway led 32-31 at halftime. Asbury used a three-point barrage from Steiner to pull away midway through the second half. The Eagles hit six of ten threes in the second half.
Miranda Rone had 15 points for Midway in the loss.
POINT PARK 68, Berea 64: Carly Forse had a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Pioneers past the Mountainers to advance to the KIAC Championship against Asbury on Saturday.
Sam Weir had 15 points and Katresa Savisky had 12 points and seven rebounds in the win.
Johnesha Warren kept Berea in the game scoring 21 points and pulling down 14 rebounds. She hit key shots late to keep it close, but clutch free throws down the stretch sealed the win for the Pioneers.
Turnovers were key as Point Park forced 18 and surrendered the ball only 10 times
