Indiana University East sophomore Vasha Davis was named the KIAC men's basketball player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, February 3rd. This is his second player of the week award of the season.
Indiana University East finished the week 2-0 after defeating Asbury University 78-59 and Point Park University 93-88. Davis finished the week averaging 21.5 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists and 2.5 steals. He connected on 51.7 percent (15-of-29) of his shots from the field. The sophomore guard recorded 26 points, 11 rebounds, 2 blocks and 2 steals in the win against Asbury. He followed that with 17 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals in the win against Point Park University. Davis currently ranks 7th in the KIAC in points per game (17.08) and is fifth in field goal percentage (53.3 percent).
Indiana University East is currently 9-17 overall and 5-8 in conference play. They will return to action on February 4th when they travel to Indiana University Kokomo.
