KIAC Softball Preseason Coaches' Poll

The 2014 Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic conference preseason softball poll was released Tuesday, February 4th by KIAC officials. The defending regular season champion and conference tournament champion Indiana University Southeast Grenadiers were selected as the top team. IU Southeast received six first-place votes and 62 total points. Last season, IU Southeast finished the regular season with a 23-3 conference record. They start the 2014 season ranked just outside the top 25 preseason NAIA Coaches' Poll as they sit in the No. 26 position nationally.

Point Park University sits in the second position with two first-place vote and 57 total points. Carlow University is third in the poll with 37 total points. Asbury and Berea are tied for fourth with 36 total points. Brescia University is sixth with 32 points, followed by Midway College (16 points) and Alice Lloyd College (12 points).

Conference play will begin on March 1st. The season will conclude with the KIAC Tournament in May.
