KIAC Women's Basketball 2013-14 Season in Review

The 2013-2014 KIAC Women's Basketball season saw ten teams begin the season with the goal of winning the conference and competing at the national level. Four teams won double-digit regular season conference games including Point Park University (13-4), Asbury University (13-4), Alice Lloyd College (12-5) and Indiana University Southeast (11-6). Point Park and Asbury shared the regular season championship. Point Park claimed their second consecutive conference tournament championship and advanced to the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Championship.

Asbury head coach Bart Flener was named as the KIAC Coach of the Year and Alice Lloyd senior Ariel Nickell was named the KIAC Player of the Year. Nickell ranked 2nd nationally in points per game (25.63) and 1st in rebounds per game (13.37). She was also named Third Team NAIA Division II All-American. Cincinnati Christian University junior Amanda Baute was named Newcomer of the Year. She ranked 10th nationally in points per game and rebounds per game. The coaches selected the following student-athletes to the all-conference team.

The KIAC had twelve basketball players named Daktronics –NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Scholar –Athletes. Student- athletes are nominated by their institution's head coach and must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status in order qualify for the honor.
