BEREA, Ky. – Jenna Swain pitched a one-hit shutout and Jordan Batliner had four RBI to send the Grenadiers to an 8-0 win over Asbury in the KIAC Championship.
The Grenadiers (41-10) jumped out to a quick lead when Brookelyn Visker hit a two-run home run to center field in the bottom of the first.
IU Southeast would add two more runs in the third when Chelsey Frith doubled and scored on a ground ball from Batliner that was bobbled by Sarah Woolums. Later, Batliner came around to score on a single from Katelyn Heines.
The Grenadiers put the game away in the fourth when they capitalized with the bases loaded. Shelby Lucas was hit by a pitch which allowed Lauren Klosterman to score. Jordan Batliner cleared the bases with a double to make it 8-0.
Jenna Swain gave up one hit, walked one and struck out four in her four innings of work to get her 13th win.
IU Southeast will find out the location and pairing in the NAIA Opening Round on Tuesday.
