Asbury University junior John Burns was named the KIAC men's soccer defensive player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, September 1st. Asbury University won their only contest of the week, defeating Montreat College 3-0. Burns recorded five saves to help lead Asbury to a season opening win. This was the Asbury junior's fourth career shutout. Asbury is currently 1-0 on the season and will return to action on September 3rd when they host Union College.
