Point Park University junior Jerah'me Williams was named the KIAC men's basketball player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, January 12th. This is his second player of the week award of the season.
Point Park University finished the week 2-0, earning a pair of conference wins against Rio Grande and IU Kokomo. For the week, Williams averaged 25 points, 2 rebounds, 8.5 assists and 1.5 steals. He shot 64 percent (16-of-25) from the field and 45.5 percent (5-of-11) from behind the 3-point line. The junior guard recorded 27 points, 4 rebounds, 8 assists and 2 steals in a 98-96 win at Rio Grande. He finished the week with 23 points and 9 assists in a 107-93 win against IU Kokomo. His 20 points per game average is 2nd in the KIAC and 25th in NAIA Division II. Williams also leads the KIAC with 7 assists per game with ranks 4th nationally.
The Pioneers are currently 10-6 overall and 2-2 in conference play. They will return to action on January 20th when they host Cincinnati Christian University.
