Indiana University East freshman Tia King was named the KIAC women's basketball player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, January 26th.
Indiana University East finished the week 2-1 with all games being played in the conference. For the week, King averaged 28.3 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists. She shot 54.9 percent (28-of-51) from the field and 89.3 percent (25-of-28) from the free throw line. She opened the week with 23 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals in a 112-93 win against Brescia University. She followed that with 34 points and 6 rebounds in a 111-106 loss at Midway College. The freshman guard ended the week with 28 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in a 113-90 win against Alice Lloyd College. King ranks 7th in the KIAC with 16.41 points per game.
The Red Wolves are currently 14-8 overall and 4-2 in conference play. They will return to action on January 27th when they host IU Southeast.
