KIAC Volleyball Defender of the Week Kaleigh Ensley (IU Kokomo)
FLORENCE, Ky. – Kaleigh Ensley led the IU Kokomo defense as the Cougars remained in the first place in the conference. For that, she was named the KIAC Volleyball Defender of the Week for Oct. 12-18.
A junior libero from Fort Wayne, Ind., Ensley averaged 6.40 digs per set for the Cougars, who went 3-0 with a pair of KIAC victories on the week. She put up 16 digs and an ace in a sweep of Brescia (Ky.) and 19 digs and one ace in a straight-sets win over Point Park. Ensley had a week-high 29 digs in a 3-1 victory over Bethel (Ind.)
Ensley, who was won the KIAC weekly honor for the second time this year, had a reception percentage of 1.000 with zero errors in 58 chances. On the serve, she had only one error in 41 attempts for a serve percentage of .976.
IU Kokomo, which is receiving votes in the NAIA Top 25 at No. 34 overall, is 26-2 overall and 8-0 KIAC to lead the conference. The Cougars put their 16 straight wins up against Taylor (Ind.) on Oct. 23 at 7 p.m.
