KIAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week Lucy Williams (Rio Grande)
FLORENCE, Ky. – Lucy Williams of the University of Rio Grande led all NAIA runners at the Jenna Strong Fall Classic Oct. 16 and was named the KIAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for Oct. 12-18.
A freshman from Athens, Ohio, Williams placed fifth of 343 runners with a time of 18:35 in the 5K. With five KIAC schools in attendance, Williams was the top individual from the KIAC, and the RedStorm was the top team from the conference.
Williams was the fastest NAIA runner in the event, which had Rio Grande finish seventh among 37 teams. The next competition for Rio Grande is the RedStorm Classic Oct. 23 at 4:30 p.m.
