KIAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week Riley Smith (Asbury)
FLORENCE, Ky. – Riley Smith keyed the defensive effort in a pair of KIAC victories last week for Asbury (Ky.) University and has been named the KIAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for Oct. 19-25.
Riley, a junior center back from Bardstown, Ky., led the defense in a key, 4-1 win at Rio Grande and a 3-1 victory over Ohio Christian. With those wins, Asbury is now 10-4-1 overall and 5-1 KIAC for second place.
Smith has started all 14 games for Asbury. She has one assist and three shots on the year. Asbury's next game is a home matchup with Point Park on Saturday (1 p.m.) with first place in the KIAC on the line.
