KIAC Volleyball Defender of the Week Lindi Thomas (IU Kokomo)
FLORENCE, Ky. – Lindi Thomas of IU Kokomo had a big week on defense and has been named the KIAC Volleyball Defender of the Week for Oct. 19-25.
Thomas, a sophomore outside hitter, also plays back row. She had 52 digs in three matches and 12 sets for an average of 4.33 digs per set. In serve-receive, she had zero reception errors in 31 chances on the week, and she served at a .951 success rate with six aces and three errors in 61 attempts.
Thomas' play led IU Kokomo to a 3-0 week, which included 2-0 in the KIAC. She had 24 digs in a win at Taylor (Ind.) and 22 digs in a win over Rio Grande as the highlights. She also averaged 3.1 kills per set on the week.
Thomas is sixth in the KIAC in both total digs with 361 and digs per set with 3.6. She is also sixth in the conference in total kills with 267. IU Kokomo (29-2, 10-0 KIAC) lead the KIAC by 2.0 games and puts its 19-match win streak up against IU East in its next match on Thursday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m.
