Asbury (Ky.) ranked No. 22 in NAIA DII WBB Preseason Top 25, Rio Grande RV

NAIA RELEASE

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- KIAC preseason favorite Asbury (Ky.) University is ranked No. 22 in the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Coaches' Preseason Top 25 Poll released by the national office on Tuesday (Oct. 27).

The Eagles were 26-7 last year, won the KIAC Tournament and reached the NAIA Division II national tournament. Asbury has all five starters back from that team and is the preseason favorite in the KIAC this year. Asbury is one of five teams that are new to the Top 25 since the end of last season.

Also gaining mention in the rankings from the KIAC is the University of Rio Grande, which is receiving votes and comes in at No. 31 overall in the country. The RedStorm were picked second in the KIAC this year and is coming off a 25-8 overall record and KIAC-best 13-1 conference record a year ago.
