KIAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week Sam Laughton (WVU Tech)
FLORENCE, Ky. – WVU Tech's Sam Laughton was named the KIAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for his performance for the undefeated Golden Bears from Sept. 28-Oct. 4.
Laughton, a senior forward from Liverpool, England, had a goal and an assist in a big, 2-0 win at Point Park in a KIAC game Sept. 30. He broke free for the first goal, the game winner, and also assisted on the second to factor into both goals.
He did not score in a 6-1 win at Ohio Christian Oct. 3, but he did his damage earlier in the week to keep WVU Tech undefeated at 9-0 overall and leading the KIAC at 2-0. For the year, he has one goal and is tied for the team lead with six assists.
