KIAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week Katy Falkenberg (Asbury)
FLORENCE, Ky. – Asbury University's Katy Falkenberg was the top women's runner from the KIAC at the Greater Louisville Classic this past weekend and thus was named the KIAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for Sept. 28-Oct. 4.
Falkenberg, a junior from North Canton, Ohio, set a school record with a 5K time of 19:10 that put her in 11th place of 365 runners in the meet. It was the best time of any KIAC runner in the race, which was hosted by the University of Louisville.
Falkenberg is the defending KIAC individual champion, and Asbury is the defending conference championship team. The Eagles return to action Oct. 10at the Fast Cats Invitational in Owensboro,Ky.
