KIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week: Annie Thomas (IU Southeast)
FLORENCE, Ky. -- IU Southeast guard Annie Thomas had a big game in a conference victory over Alice Lloyd and has earned the first KIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week honor of the season. She won the award for her play Nov. 2-8.
Thomas, a 5-3 sophomore from Edinburgh, Ind., scored 19 points and made 2 of 4 from 3-point range in a 70-46 win over Alice Lloyd in conference play. She made 5 of 8 field goals overall for 63 percent and made 7 of 9 free throws. Thomas also chipped in four assists in the win.
Thomas is in her first year at IU Southeast since transferring from Henderson State University.
It was the season opener for IU Southeast, which improved to 1-0 overall and 1-0 KIAC. The Grenadiers are in action Nov. 12 when they host St. Mary of the Woods.
