IU Kokomo qualifies for NAIA Volleyball National Championship for first time

KOKOMO, Ind. -- IU Kokomo volleyball will travel to No. 23 Madonna University (Mich.) to compete in the NAIA Volleyball National Championship Opening Round on Nov. 21. It is the first-ever national tournament appearance for the Cougars (34-4, 11-1 KIAC), who are the KIAC Tournament and Regular Season champions.
Madonna enters the NAIA Opening Round with a No. 23 national ranking and a 33-6 record. The Crusaders finished second in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference regular season and post season tournament. This will be the first meeting between the Crusaders and the Cougars.
The teams only have one common opponent on the year in IU South Bend both wining their respective matches, 3-1. The Cougars enter the 2015 NAIA Volleyball National Championship with a 34-4 overall record and the KIAC regular season and tournament champions. Fellow KIAC member and tournament runner up Point Park University will travel to Georgetown, Ky. for their opening round matchup.
The Cougars enter the event as the No. 34 overall ranked team in the NAIA and in the latest NAIA Top 25 Poll (Nov. 15).
