Point Park seeded with No. 1 Lindsey (Ky.) for NAIA Women's Soccer Opening Round
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Point Park (Pa.) University will play No. 1 Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) in the NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship Opening Round, as announced with the NAIA Selection Show on Nov. 16.
The Pioneers (12-6-2, 6-2 KIAC) will visit the Blue Raiders on Nov. 21 at 2:30 p.m. CT for ther first-ever appearance in the NAIA national tournament. Lindsey Wilson (16-1-1) is the defending NAIA champion and a four-time national champion.
Point Park won the automatic bid to nationals as KIAC Tournament champs. The Pioners beat Rio Grande, 3-1, in the semifinals and WVU Tech, 1-0, in the finals, both of which were at home.
It was the first-ever conference championship for the Pioneers, who had been close in recent years. Point Park was the KIAC Tournament runner-up in 2012 and 2013 and a semifinalist in 2014.
