KIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week: Paul Stone (WVU Tech)
FLORENCE, Ky. -- WVU Tech's Paul Stone led the Golden Bears to a pair of NAIA Division II Top 25 victories to earn KIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors for Nov. 23-Nov. 29, the conference has announced.
A 6-6, junior guard from Danville, Va., Stone averaged 15.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game while shooting 67 percent from the field as WVU Tech went 2-0 at the NAIA Division II Showcase Nov. 28-29 in Kingsport, Tenn.
Stone put up a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds in a 61-60 win over No. 16 St. Thomas (Fla.) on Saturday. He followed that up Sunday with 20 points, five rebounds and three blocks on 10 of 12 field goals in an 83-65 victory versus No. 23 Southeastern (Fla.).
Stone is averaging 16.0 ppg and 9.3 rpg and shooting 50 percent from the field. WVU Tech is 6-3 overall, 1-0 KIAC and returns to action Dec. 5 at Washington Adventist (D.C.).
