FLORENCE, Ky. -- The University of Rio Grande's Sarah Bonar averaged 30 points and eight rebounds in two games last week to earn KIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors for games played Dec. 7-13.

A 5-11, senior forward from Hartford, Ohio, Bonar's week was highlighted by a career-high 41 points and a school-record 16 field goals made in an 84-67 win over NCAA Division II Ohio Valley. In that game, she also totaled eight rebounds, made 16 of 24 field goals and 8 of 9 free throws.

The first game of the week featured 19 points, eight rebounds and four steals in an 89-88 loss to NCAA Division II Salem International. For the week, she averaged 30.0 ppg, 8.0 rpg and shot 70 percent (21 of 30) from the floor and 74 percent (17 of 23) from the free-throw line.

Bonar is averaging 18.3 ppg to lead the Rio Grande team and rank third in the KIAC. Her scoring average ranks 16th in NAIA Division II, and she is 34th in the country in field-goal percentage at .492.
