IU Southeast (4-5, 1-0 KIAC) travels to WVU Tech (4-7, 0-2 KIAC) for a key game in which both teams will be hungry to gain winning momentum. The matchup of IU Southeast of the KIAC Capital Divisoin and WVU Tech of the KIAC Colonial is the only meeting between the teams this year.

IU Southeast is off to a 1-0 start in the KIAC with an early season win over Alice Lloyd. The Grenadiers, who lead the KIAC in field-goal percentage defense (.343) and rebounding average (46.9 rpg), can make a strong move by improving to 2-0 KIAC.

WVU Tech, on the other hand, is 0-2 KIAC and looks to avoid an 0-3 start to conference play. The Golden Bears, who are ninth in the country in offensive rebounds per game (16.5 rpg), have lost KIAC games to Point Park and IU East so far. WVU Tech plays host to Newport News on Dec. 17.

In the KIAC preseason poll, IU Southeast was picked second in the KIAC Capital, and WVU Tech was picked fourth in the KIAC Colonial.

IU Southeast has the combination of guard Annie Thomas and forward Mary Dye leading the team. Thomas, a transfer this year, leads the team with 15.5 ppg and 11 made 3-pointers. Dye is averaging nearly a double-double of 14.5 ppg and 9.4 rpg. More size inside comes from Jocelyn Mousty (9.0 ppg, 9.8 rpg), a 6-2 transfer from Texas Tech.

WVU Tech has freshman guard Savannah Shamblin leading the way with 13.8 ppg and 4.5 apg. She has played all put 10 minutes this season. The Golden Bears also have guard LaKisha Adkins averaging 12.5 ppg with 20 made 3-pointers and forward Courtney Fisher with 11.8 ppg and 9.7 rpg. Forward Rocio Ruiz-Berdejo (19.7 ppg, 11.7 rpg) has missed all but the first three games of the season.
