Kelly Johnson, Point Park University -- Women's Basketball Player of the Week

5-8 Sophomore – Pittsburgh, PA

Point Park University sophomore Kelly Johnson was named the KIAC women's basketball player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, February 9th. This is her second player of the week award of the season.

Point Park finished the week 2-0 after picking up a pair of road wins. For the week, Johnson averaged 32 points, 5.5 rebounds, 8 assists and 6.5 steals. She shot 63.4 percent (26-of-41) from the field. She opened the week with 33 points, 3 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals in a 75-64 win at Carlow University. The sophomore guard finished the week with 31 points, 8 rebounds, 10 assists and 7 steals in a 103-79 win at Indiana University East. Johnson ranks 6th in the KIAC in points per game (17.46) and 4th in assists per game (4.42). She leads the conference and ranks 4th in NAIA Division II steals per game (3.75).

The Pioneers are currently 21-3 overall and 8-2 in conference play. They will return to action on February 10th when they host the University of Rio Grande.
