Nate Sphon, Point Park University – Baseball Pitcher of the Week

5-7 Senior – Greensburg, PA

Point Park University senior Nate Sphon was named the KIAC baseball pitcher of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, March 23rd.

Point Park finished 5-0 last week. In his only outing last week, Sphon started the first game of a doubleheader at Asbury on March 20th and pitched a four-hit complete game shutout. The senior pitcher also struck out 5 Asbury batters. Sphon improved to 3-1 on the season. He ranks 1st in the KIAC in innings pitched per game (6), 2nd in earned run average (1.13) and 2nd in opposition batting average (.214).

No. 24 Point Park University is 15-4 overall and 4-0 in conference play. They will return to action on March 24th when they travel to West Virginia Institute of Technology for a doubleheader.
