Jessica Leanhart, Indiana University Southeast – Softball Pitcher of the Week

5-7 Sophomore – LaGrange, KY

Indiana University Southeast sophomore Jessica Leanhart was named the KIAC softball pitcher of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, April 20^th. This is her third pitcher of the week award of the season.

Leanhart only allowed one earned run while earning the win in three complete games last week. She only allowed two hits and struck out six in a 5-0 win at Asbury. The sophomore pitcher also earned the win while striking out nine Rio Grande batters in a 2-1 win. She followed that with five strikeouts in a 4-1 win against Rio Grande. Leanhart leads the KIAC with 17 wins which ranks 9^th in the NAIA. She also leads the KIAC and ranks 5^th nationally in opposition batting average (.155).

Indiana University Southeast is currently 26-5 overall and 20-3 in conference play. They will return to action April 24-25 at the KIAC Softball Tournament.
