Berea, Ky. (April 27th, 2015) - The KIAC released the softball all-conference teams, player of the year, pitcher of the year, newcomer of the year and coach of the year Monday, April 27th.

Point Park University senior Karen Mao was named the KIAC player of the year. Mao ended the regular season with a .399 batting average, eight doubles, seven home runs and 56 RBIs in 42 games. The Pioneers finished the regular season 28-14 overall and 21-7 in conference play.

Indiana University Southeast sophomore Jessica Leanhart was named the KIAC pitcher of the year. Leanhart ranked near the top in several KIAC statistical categories. She was 2nd in earned run average (1.75), 1st in wins (18), 1st in opposition batting average (.157), 2nd in strike outs (147). Leanhart was also named pitcher of the week three times this season.

Carlow University sophomore Allison Hyradil was named the KIAC newcomer of the year. Hyradil ranked 3rd in the KIAC with a .448 batting average, 2nd in slugging percentage (.713) and 3rd in runs batted in (36) over 30 games played this season.

Indiana University Southeast head coach Joe Witten was named the KIAC coach of the year. Witten led the Grenadiers to a first place finish in the KIAC regular season. IU Southeast finished the regular season 28-5 overall and 20-3 in conference play. The Grenadiers entered the KIAC tournament as the top seed. The tournament will conclude Friday, May 1st at Millennium Park in Danville, KY.
