Lanham Named Athletic Director of the Year
University of Rio Grande Athletic Director Jeff Lanham has been named the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Athletic Director of the Year.
Lanham was named Athletic Director of the Year after a vote by the athletic directors of KIAC member institutions.
This academic year, Rio Grande has won the tournament championship in baseball, the northern division regular season championship in women's basketball, the tournament championship in men's cross country, the women's soccer regular season championship, the tournament championship in men's and women's soccer, the tournament championship in softball, and the tournament championship in men's and women's track and field.
"Rio Grande has been a welcomed addition to the KIAC," KIAC Commissioner Bill Melton said. "Their sports programs have made the KIAC more competitive and has raised the level of respect the KIAC is receiving."
Lanham has been the Director of Athletics at Rio Grande since January 2004 and is also an assistant professor of health and physcial educaton at Rio Grande.
