Rio's Dickerson named KIAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week

FLORENCE, Ky. -- Melissa Dickerson of the University of Rio Grande earned KIAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors for her efforts Aug. 24-30, the conference announced on Monday (Aug. 31). A 5-2, senior midfielder from Little Hocking, Ohio, Dickerson picked up a goal and an assist in the RedStorm's 2-1 victory over Milligan (Tenn.) on Aug. 29.

Dickerson gave Rio Grande a 1-0 lead after 12 minutes and then assisted on the winning goal, which was by Courtney Young with three minutes remaining. The win was the RedStorm's first of the year, and Rio Grande is now 2-1 overall, 1-0 KIAC after Monday night's 3-2, KIAC win over WVU Tech.
