FLORENCE, Ky. -- Lindi Thomas of IU Kokomo has been tabbed the KIAC Volleyball Defender of the Week for matches played Aug. 24-30, the conference announced on Monday (Aug. 31). Thomas, a 5-9 outside hitter from Parker City, Ind., played strong defense to lead the Cougars (9-1) to a 5-0 record on the week, including 4-0 at the Lindsey (Ky.) Wilson Classic.

Thomas posted 69 digs in five matches for an average of 3.83 digs per set. She amassed double-digit digs in four of the five matches including a week-high 20 versus Marian (Ind.) and 17 versus Campbellsville (Ky.).

Thomas collected eight services aces -- four apiece in wins over Brenau (Ga.) and Dalton State (Ga.). Her ball control was also a big part of the Cougars' success with zero receiving errors in 80 chances for the week.

Thomas and the Cougars take their eight-match win streak to Purdue-North Central on Tuesday. Follow KIAC volleyball at KIACsports.com and @KIACsports on Twitter.
