KIAC Volleyball Defender of the Week Taylor Sutton (IU Southeast)
FLORENCE, Ky. – IU Southeast's Taylor Sutton is the KIAC Volleyball Defender of the Week for her play Sept. 7-13, the conference announced. The 5-7 sophomore from Seymour, Ind., led the Grenadiers on defense to three victories in five matches and a 2-0 KIAC record on the week.
Sutton posted 109 total digs in five matches (15 sets) on the week. That gave her an average of 7.27 digs per set. Her passing stats showed just three errors in 72 attempts for 95.8 percent success. Sutton served at 97.6 percent accuracy.
She had more than 20 digs in four out of the five matches on the week including a high of 26 in the KIAC Game of the Week, a 3-0 win over IU East. Sutton also had 24 digs in a KIAC win over Cincinnati Christian, a 3-0 victory.
Sutton ranks 31st in the NAIA with 5.06 digs per set, a figure that leads the Grenadiers team. She has 162 digs on the year. She and the IU Southeast team return to action Friday versus KIAC foe Point Park at home at 7 p.m.
