KIAC Volleyball Attacker of the Week -- Mallory Livingston (IU East)
FLORENCE, Ky. -- Leading IU East to a 4-1 record on the week, the Red Wolves' top offensive player, Mallory Livingston, was named the KIAC Volleyball Attacker of the Week for matches played Aug. 31-Sept. 6, the conference announced on Monday (Sept. 7).
Livingston, a 5-9 senior from Union City, Ohio, averaged 3.00 kills and 2.78 digs per set and hit .236 for the week. That was a big part of IU East going 3-1 at Point Park's Battle of the Boulevard Sept. 4-5, which tied for the top record there and included a 3-0, KIAC win over the host Pioneers.
The 2014 KIAC Volleyball Player of the Year, Livingston had at least eight kills in each match on the week and eclipsed 10 kills in three of the five contests. She had three double-doubles on the week including 10 kills and 17 digs versus Point Park, 14 kills and 10 digs versus Lawrence Tech and 13 kills and 14 digs versus West Liberty.
Livingston totaled 54 kills, 50 digs and seven total blocks for the week. She and the Red Wolves return to action in KIAC play at IU Southeast on Thursday.
