KIAC Volleyball Defender of the Week -- Madison Yoder (IU East)
FLORENCE, Ky. -- IU East libero Madison Yoder had a strong week on defense for the Red Wolves and was named the KIAC Volleyball Defender of the Week for matches played Aug. 31-Sept. 6, the conference announced on Monday (Sept. 7).
A 5-5 sophomore from Indianapolis, Ind., Yoder averaged 4.56 digs per set, had a serve percentage of .909 and a reception percentage of .883 to help the Red Wolves to a 4-1 record on the week, which included 3-1 at Point Park's Battle of the Boulevard.
Yoder registered double-digit digs in all five matches on the week including a high of 24 versus NCAA Division II West Liberty in four sets. She also had 16 digs versus Point Park and Taylor. Yoder also picked up eight service aces on the week.
The Red Wolves return to the court Thursday at IU Southeast for another KIAC match. IU East is 7-6 overall and off to a 1-0 start in the KIAC.
