FLORENCE, Ky. -- University of Rio Grande forward Brooke Marcum had a very strong week in the post to earn KIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week accolades for Jan. 4-10.

A 6-0 junior from Vinton, Ohio, Marcum averaged 26.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game and shot an impressive 81 percent (25 for 31) from the floor. Her performance led the RedStorm (10-5, 3-1 KIAC) to a pair of conference victories over IU Kokomo and at Carlow.

Marcum totaled 20 points, six rebounds and made 10 of 13 field goals in the 91-72 win over IUK. She followed that up with a career-high 32 points and nine rebounds on 15-for-18 shooting in a 75-59 win at Carlow.

Marcum continues to make her way back from a preseason foot injury that has limited her to 12 games and six starts. She has worked her way to second on the team in scoring at 11.4 ppg and first in rebounding at 6.6 rpg.

Rio Grande's next game is Thursday at home versus WVU Tech at 6 p.m. Follow KIAC Women's Basketball at KIACSports.com and on Twitter @KIACSports and @KIACScores and on Facebook.com/KIACSports.
