KIAC WBB Player of the Week: Catie Fletcher (Asbury)
FLORENCE, Ky. -- Asbury (Ky.) University senior guard Catie Fletcher posted 22 points per game in two victories last week to earn KIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors for Jan. 11-18.
The 5-10 senior from Versailles, Ky., led her team in scoring to keep Asbury in first place in the KIAC Capital Division at 11-8 overall and 7-1 KIAC. She put up 23 points on 9 of 13 shooting in just 17 minute and 25 seconds of playing time in a 103-50 win over Cincinnati Christian.
Fletcher then tallied 21 points and eight rebounds in 25 minutes of action in an 87-57 win over IU Kokomo. She made 8 of 14 field goals that game to shoot 63 percent (17 of 27) for the week.
It was a very hot week from the perimeter for Fletcher, who made 5 of 6 treys versus CCU and 3 of 4 versus IU Kokomo for 8-for-10 shooting on the week. She is fifth in the KIAC in scoring at 16.74 ppg and is third in the conference in 3-point accuracy at 41 percent.
