RSC Men's Golf Fall Preview Day 1 Recap: WVU Tech leads by four shots

LEADERBOARD (36 Holes)

UNION, Ky. -- WVU Tech knocked 10 shots off its score from the first round to the second round and leads the River States Conference Men's Golf Fall Preview by four shots after the 36 holes played Monday at Lassing Pointe Golf Course in Union, Ky.

The Golden Bears opened with a 314 the first 18 holes to put themselves in a tie for third, six shots back of first-round leader Ohio Christian at 308. But WVU Tech followed that up with a tournament-best round of 304 to build its four-shot lead through 36 holes.

Brescia (Ky.) University is in second place with two rounds of 311. Point Park (Pa.) University sits in third place after cutting 12 shots from its opening 320 to a 308 in round two. Asbury (Ky.) University (314-316) and Ohio Christian (308-322) are tied for fourth.

Individually, Point Park's Max Kaminsky leads the tournament after firing rounds of 74-73 for a total of 147. He has a three-shot lead over Taylor Suggs (77-73) and Austin Taylor (78-72), both of whom are from Cincinnati Christian.

WVU Tech's Braden Keown (81-70) has the Golden Bears in the team lead after his second-round 70, which put him in fourth place individually at 151, four shots off the lead. Nick Finoli (74-78), who is from Point Park but is playing as an individual, is in fifth place at 152.

Ohio Christian's Ben Bailey (73-80--153) is in sixth place followed by Brescia's Nolan White (81-73--154) and first-round leader Ben Campbell (70-84--154) of Asbury in a tie for seventh. There are five players tied for ninth at 155.
