CCU's McDowell grabs RSC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week

FLORENCE, Ky. -- Cincinnati Christian goalkeeper Bryan McDowell posted two shutouts to grab River States Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week from Oct. 3-9.

McDowell is a 6-2 junior from Cincinnati, Ohio. The Eagles are now 8-2-1 overall and 2-2 RSC after McDowell put up 1-0 shutouts over conference foe Asbury (Ky.) and non-conference Hiwassee.

McDowell made five saves in the big win over Asbury and eight in the victory over Hiwassee. He was also credited with an assist on the lone goal versus Hiwassee. He played all 180 minutes on the week and has now started all 11 games CCU.

McDowell is third in the conference with a goals-against average of 1.03 and tied for fourth with 43 total saves. The Eagles host Cincinnati-Clermont for their next game Oct. 12.
