Point Park's Manning named RSC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
FLORENCE, Ky. -- Point Park (Pa.) University defender Paige Manning led a big defensive week for the Pioneers to pick up River States Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for Oct. 3-9.
Manning is a central defender from Newmarket, Ontario. A senior, Manning keyed the Point Park defense in shut-out wins at Midway (Ky.), 3-0, and at Brescia (Ky.), 5-0.
Manning led the shut down of the opposing attack, which included just one shot allowed to Brescia and five shots (three on goal) versus Midway. The Point Park defense now has four shutouts in its last six games and has given up just three goals in that span.
Point Park is 4-6-2 overall and is tied for the lead in the conference at 3-1 RSC. The Pioneers have their next game Oct. 15 at home versus Ohio Christian.
