#RSCgotw Men's Soccer: #2 Rio Grande, #13 WVU Tech play to 1-1 draw (2OT)

BECKLEY, W.Va. -- In the River States Conference Men's Soccer Game of the Week, No. 2 University of Rio Grande and No. 13 WVU Tech ended in a 1-1 draw in double overtime Thursday night. After 110 minutes of play, the top two teams in the conference remain tied atop the standings at 3-0-1.

Overall, WVU Tech is now 11-1-2 while Rio Grande is now 11-1-1. It was the only meeting of the regular season for the schools, which give the conference two highly ranked teams in the NAIA Men's Soccer Top 25 Poll.

Rio Grande struck first, posting a quick goal from Lucas Talaveira in the third minute. WVU Tech scored the equalizer at 53:20 when freshman Ignacio Tellecheaposted his 14th goal this season unassisted.

Defense ruled the rest of the game as neither team was able to score again even with extra time.

The Gold and Blue outshot Rio Grande, 13-10, while the RedStorm held the advantage in corner kicks, 7-3.

Tellechea led WVU Tech with three shots on goal while senior Daniel Ramirezrecorded one. Jorge Guinovart led Rio Grande with four shots.

In goal, senior Hunter Moles (11-1-2) played all 110 minutes, stopping three balls. Benjamin Martinez made three saves in goal for Rio Grande.

WVU Tech returns to action at home Oct. 20 versus Point Park. Rio Grande's next game is home to Carlow on Oct. 15.
