Asbury's Morlan wins RSC Volleyball Attacker of the Week honor

FLORENCE, Ky. -- Asbury (Ky.) University junior Kayla Morlan had a big week on offense to win River States Conference Volleyball Attacker of the Week for Oct. 10-16.

A junior from Columbus, Ohio, Morlan totaled 32 kills in three matches as Asbury went 2-1 overall on the week and 1-0 RSC. She capped off the week with 14 kills and two blocks in a 3-1 conference win over Brescia (Ky.).

Morlan also had 10 kills in 15 attempts in a 3-0 win over non-conference Freed-Hardeman. Her week started off with eight kills in 16 atttempts in a 3-1 loss to Cumberland (Tenn.). Morlan hit .383 for the week.

Morlan's play lifted Asbury to 8-12 overall and 5-3 RSC, good for third place in the RSC West Division. She has 195 kills and 45.0 blocks on the season. Asbury has its next match Oct. 18 at IU Southeast.
