Point Park's Simonson earns RSC Volleyball Attacker of the Week

FLORENCE, Ky. -- Point Park (Pa.) University outside hitter Shiloh Simonson had a big week on the attack to keep the Pioneers in the conference lead and earn River States Conference Volleyball Attacker of the Week Oct. 17-23.

Simonson, a 5-9 senior from Venetia, Pa., totaled 27 kills in three matches and also collected 47 digs as Point Park went 3-0 in three conference matches. The big performance was 13 kills and 24 digs in a key win over IU Southeast that kept the Pioneers with the best RSC record.

She also collected six kills and 13 digs in a 3-0 win over Brescia and eight kills and 10 digs in a 3-0 win at Carlow. Simonson totaled six service aces, and she ranks fourth in the conference and 18th nationally with 49 service aces on the year.

Simonson has a team-high 216 kills on the year, which leads a group of six Pioneers with 100-plus kills on the year. Point Park (16-13, 12-1 RSC) visits WVU Tech for its next match Oct. 25.
