Asbury's Baker is RSC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
FLORENCE, Ky. -- Asbury (Ky.) University defender Austin Baker picked up River States Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week accolades thanks to his part in two conference wins Sept. 26-Oct. 2.
The 5-10 sophomore from Franklin, Tenn., played a key role in the Eagles' backline during their 3-2, overtime win over at Point Park and a 3-1 win at Carlow two days later.
Baker got in on the offensive attack as well. He scored a goal at Point Park to help erase an early, 2-0 deficit. He also picked up his team-high sixth assist of the year at Carlow.
Baker has started all nine games for Asbury, which improved to 6-2-1 overall, 2-0 RSC after this past week. The Eagles visit Cincinnati Christian Oct. 6 for their next game.
