No. 17 WVU Tech's Ramirez nets RSC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
FLORENCE, Ky. -- Daniel Ramirez had a big week for No. 17 WVU Tech to earn River States Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for Sept. 26-Oct. 2.
Ramirez, a 6-2 senior from Madrid, Spain, scored five goals and 10 points as part of a 2-0 week in RSC play for the Golden Bears.
He opened up with two goals in a 5-0 win over Midway (Ky.) and followed that up with a hat trick in a 7-0 win over Brescia (Ky.) in the RSC Game of the Week. Ramirez has played in all 11 games with four starts. He now has five goals and 12 points on the season.
WVU Tech is now 9-1-1 overall and 2-0 RSC. The Golden Bears moved up four spots to No. 17 in last week's NAIA Top 25 Poll and came in at No. 13 in the NAIA's first MRPI rankings released last week. WVU Tech visits Salem International for its next game Oct. 6.
