Point Park's Meng named RSC Volleyball Setter of the Week

FLORENCE, Ky. -- Point Park (Pa.) University senior Emily Meng led the Pioneers to a clinch of the regular-season conference title to earn River States Conference Volleyball Setter of the Week for Oct. 24-30.

Meng, a 5-10 native of Indianapolis, Ind., put up 116 assists in three matches, and Point Park went 3-0. That put the Pioneers at 15-1 RSC to win the RSC title and clinch an NAIA national tournament automatic bid.

Meng posted 51 assists, 14 digs and four blocks in a 3-1 win at WVU Tech. She registered 37 assists, four digs, four blocks and five kills in a 3-1 victory at IU East that clinched nationals. She ended the week with another double-double of 28 assists and 10 digs in a sweep of OCU.

Meng is third in the conference with 900 total assists, and she is fifth with 7.6 assists per set. Point Park (19-13, 15-1 RSC) is next in action Nov. 8 at home versus West Virginia Wesleyan.
