IU Southeast's Shine picks up first RSC Women's Basketball Player of the Week award

FLORENCE, Ky. -- IU Southeast freshman forward Jenna Shine averaged 16.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 4.0 steals per game in two games last week to earn River States Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Nov. 7-13, the first award of the basketball season.

Shine, a 5-11 native of New Albany, Ind., led the Grenadiers to a 2-0 week with a victory over Trinity Christian (Ill.), 82-78, and a win at Oakland City, 94-89.

Shine had a near triple-double in the win over Trinity Christian with 20 points, 10 rebounds, eight steals and four blocks. She made 7 of 9 from the floor and 3 of 4 from long range and the free-throw line.

Versus Oakland City, Shine capped off her week with 12 points, eight rebounds and another two made 3-pointers in four attempts.

Shine is averaging 11.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game off the bench for IU Southeast (2-1). She has made 5 of 8 treys on the year. IU Soutehast visits Kentucky Christian for its next game Nov. 15.
