Rio Grande (Ohio) men leading RSC representatives at NAIA Meet

ELSAH, Ill. -- The University Rio Grande men's cross country team leads the River States Conference representatives at the NAIA Cross Country National Championships Nov. 19, 2016 at Elsah, Ill.

The Rio Grande team qualified for nationals as a complete team as the Rivers States Conference champions. The RedStorm will be joined by the top four individuals from other conference schools from the RSC meet.

This year's national meet is being held at the North Farm Cross Country Course. The men's 8,000-meter race will begin at 11:30 a.m. Central Time.

The Rio Grande team had the top three finishers at the RSC meet Nov. 5 at WVU Tech with Dallas Guy, Blake Freed and Kameron Carpenter leading the way. The RedStorm had six all-conference runners with the others being Kyle Sanborn (5th), Dustin Moritz (7th) and Mike Morris (9th).

Also representing the RSC at the NAIA meet are individual qualifiers Douglas Negrete (4th) from WVU Tech, Salvador Campos (6th) from IU East, Caleb Woodward (10th) of Asbury and Blake Brooks (11th) of IU East.
