Point Park (Pa.) representing RSC in NAIA Women's Soccer Opening Round

FLORENCE, Ky. -- Point Park (Pa.) University is representing the River States Conference in the NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship Opening Round beginning Nov. 19 at campus sites around the country.

The Pioneers (10-7-2, 6-2 RSC) qualified for the 32-team national tournament as RSC Tournament champions. The Pioneers were 6-2 RSC for second place in the standings and then won their two playoff games for the title. Point Park is in the national tournament for the second year in a row as back-to-back conference tournament champs.

Point Park drew No. 2 seed Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) College (15-3), the champions of the Mid-South Conference and the national runner-up from a year ago. The Blue Raiders beat Point Park in last year's NAIA Opening Round, 5-0.

Point Park plays at Lindsey Wilson on Saturday night, Nov. 19 with a 7 p.m. CT kickoff in Columbia, Ky. Live Video is available on Stretch Internet for $5, and Live Stats are on Dakstats.

The Point Park-Lindsey Wilson winner will advance to the NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship final site Nov. 28-Dec. 3 in Orange Beach, Ala. There, the final 16 teams will gather for the rest of the national tournament.
